How many people are having an orgasm right now?"
Posted : 16 years ago on 6 November 2008 02:15 (A review of Amรฉlie)Jean Pierre Jeunet is a god! I wish I have seen this as soon as it was released last 2001 but since I was a major dumbass then, I never bothered watching this glorious portrayal of Amelie Poulain's life, until this year. Every part of this film is simply superb. The cinematography. The lines, even though it's French. The story. And everything in between. I love Audrey Tautou and her face is untimely. I can absolutely watch this film over and over again.
I'm a sucker for happy endings. :)

Famous Almost
Posted : 16 years ago on 6 November 2008 02:06 (A review of Almost Famous)This film made me happy more than I expected because surprisingly, two of my favorite ladies were in it, too: Zooey Deschanel and Fairuza Balk. :) Anyway, Almost Famous is hilariously fun to watch. This is definitely one of the rock and roll movies that shall never be surpassed by other future films of the same concept. Its script is absolutely far out! Kate Hudson was a major flirt but she's equally lovely as well. Jason Lee's better off in My Name Is Earl, by the way. My favorite scene? The almost-plane crash scene! Haha. :)

The Universe Across
Posted : 16 years ago on 6 November 2008 01:58 (A review of Across the Universe)This psychedelic film is very entertaining. Thanks for the good-looking actors who star in it, except for that Prudence girl who has a face that's full of banters. Haha. Beatles songs were everywhere. Really everywhere that sometimes you don't expect that someone would be singing but still they do suddenly - that was almost lame. I love the Strawberry Fields part, though. I wish it was more psychedelic though. That '70s Show gave me more of that era's feel. :)

C +
Posted : 16 years ago on 6 November 2008 01:47 (A review of Accepted)I saw this on HBO and it was a good thing that I was able to watch it from the beginning. Otherwise, I wouldn't waste my time watching it. But then, it was quite fun. You know, creating your own school with your own curriculum, own rules, own playground - basically creating your own self! And yes, it's far from being true. And at some point, I find the leading character boring. Haha. I don't even remember the actor's real name. :P

Natural Brilliance
Posted : 16 years ago on 6 November 2008 01:43 (A review of A.I. Artificial Intelligence)Given the fact that this is a Spielberg film, the young protagonist's acting made it more super dramatic to watch. I really like Osment as a kid and how I wish he had stopped growing after seeing this. I'm really not into android films but this is an exception. Jude Law was good-looking. But he still sucks as an actor. Hahaha.

Sibling freakishness.
Posted : 16 years ago on 31 October 2008 01:34 (A review of A Tale of Two Sisters (2003))This film boomed during the peak of Asian horror dramas in the world. And yes, A Tale of Two Sisters is something. Freakingly good, it was. This proved that Koreans aren't just for romantic comedies. They could also compete with Japan's psychotic films. :)

Stop playing the fucking songs!
Posted : 16 years ago on 31 October 2008 01:18 (A review of 9 Songs)Okay. I rated this TWO because I cannot believe myself for having watched almost half of this film. It was literally rock and roll and sex. It was sex and sex and sex and what the hell about the story?! If you're looking for a flick that you could watch while you're jerking off, maybe this will do good. But hey, for fuck's sake, I have seen other almost-pornographic movies with real plots but 9 Songs is just no good. Dull. Lame. Erotic but lame.

You better lose yourself! :D
Posted : 16 years ago on 31 October 2008 01:14 (A review of 8 Mile)Listening (and even rapping along) to Eminem is one of my guiltiest pleasures in my entire life. Haha. I find him so attractive BEFORE, with his phoniness and straightforwardness. 8 Mile portrayed Marshall Mathers' soft side, setting aside his almost always raging side. I even used to have the soundtrack album of this film. :P

30 Days of Scare
Posted : 16 years ago on 31 October 2008 01:05 (A review of 30 Days of Night)Everything about the zombies in this film is eerie. Their ugly faces, hungry insides, and their sudden attack really gave me the scare! And the protagonist died in the end: isn't that grand? I hope there'll be more sequels of this.

Brains, more brains.
Posted : 16 years ago on 31 October 2008 01:00 (A review of 28 Days Later)I am a fan of gore and zombies, hence my username here in listal. And this, by far, is one of the best zombie flicks I have ever seen. Of course, if Danny Boyle directed it, I would definitely love it. Cillian Murphy is super different from his performance in Breakfast on Pluto - I almost didn't recognize him. And yes, going back to zombies and gore, 28 Days Later is not just about eating flesh and masticating brains. This film has what most zombie films have been missing: a great storyline. And with this criterion, 28 Days Later is truly the shit! :)
